A Gift

Updated: Sep 22, 2020

As much as it doesn't seem like it, you have been given a gift.

The world has come to a standstill, and a vast disruption has caused the noise of your normal life to be momentarily quiet.  Yet, the noise of fear about your job, your career, and how you are going to make a living and survive may be deafening and causing extreme anxiety and stress.  Let's look at the scene from a different viewpoint to help make it through the day.  Take advantage of the extra time you have to figure out your next career move, ways you can increase your income, learn new skills to be more valuable to employers.  Also, use the time to rejuvenate and thrive by being creative and picking up a hobby.  Learn and do something that brings you laughter and happiness amidst all the turmoil.  While everything seems to be in a state of chaos, be wise, and create something new that makes you a better person.   How are you going to use all this unorganized time?  You could watch Netflix for 23 hours straight and be paralyzed by fear and all the changes, or you could learn a new card game to play with the family.  (I highly recommend Skull King!).  You could spend hours on social media, or you could pick up a fantastic book and read/listen to it and be educated and changed. I suggest listening to: "Salt of the Sea" by Ruta Sepetys (Listen, don't read this one!) "Stillness is the Key" by Ryan Halliday   "The Alchemist" by Pablo Coehlo "The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle" by Stuart Turton Be wise, Be Creative, Be Better than you were two weeks ago.  Be interesting with the extra space that has been given to you.  The time may come when you look back at when the world stopped, and be glad you took the time to think about your career, your life, and the direction you are going.  This could all be working for your good!
