Yet the best of humanity seems to be kept off stage and out of public view. Courageous women and men making a difference in their local communities, families facing devastation with hope and gratitude. Employees trying to be exceptional in their work and patient in their interactions with other employees and clients. People seeing and helping others they don't know. Individuals facing personal demons we never recognize. I'm turning off the terrible and spreading the incredible this week.
While in Europe over the holidays I stood outside of a church whose outside facade was beautiful, incredible, and inspiring. When I walked inside I was taken aback by the deterioration and darkness. As I walked away I told myself, "I don't want to be that way as a person, looking good on the outside and rotting away on the inside."
